The benefits of being an IAA member
The benefits of being an IAA member
The IAA is a not-for-profit organisation. Membership fees allow the IAA to fund ongoing educational initiatives and provide exclusive services to our community of members.
The IAA is committed to educating the public on the Internet and offers a range of services including free public meetings, conferences, arbitration, advocacy, government lobbying and more.
Member events are offered across Australia, with web streaming provided for those members interstate or overseas. The IAA negotiates supplier discounts for members on relevant services and products, discounts to related industry events and special offers.
Your ongoing support as a member allows the IAA to fund public Internet initiatives which include:
The IAA funds the venue and equipment hire, and often commits to the cost of any appearance fees for expert speakers.
The IAA is committed to ongoing community education via schools, colleges, and other events such as the internet community hour.
The IAA is continually looking for new opportunities for members to promote their products and services to the community.
The IAA continues to represent the interests of Internet-related businesses and users when government policy is under review or development.
The IAA maintains a dispute resolution process for the Internet industry.
The IAA strives to provide a balanced representation of the Internet community through the media (news reports, radio news and talkback, television interviews, providing columns to news organisations and magazines)
The IAA continues to represent the Internet industry on forums.
The IAA sets high standards for the Internet industry, evidenced by the creation of the ‘Code of Conduct’ and recommended ‘Acceptable Use’ policies, protecting users from poor service and encouraging participating businesses to strive for continued improvement in service standards.
Where possible, we like members to receive direct benefits in return for their ongoing support, therefore, IAA Members are granted:
IAA Members are provided free entry to our Public Meetings, which normally attract a cover charge.
Be promoted as preferred providers of services. The IAA receives many requests from individuals and companies seeking recommended providers of Internet services. The IAA will always provide a list of Members to these requests, therefore increasing your exposure to these companies.
Members are provided discounts, where possible, to any IAA events that normally attract a fee, such as conferences.
IAA Members are granted permission to reproduce the IAA Logo on their literature and websites, stating that as a member of IAA, they support the Internet and are actively involved in its promotion and protection (see IAA Membership Logo Usage Agreement).
We encourage members to reproduce the IAA member graphic on marketing material, social media and websites. Please include a link back to our website where possible.

We are continually looking to improve member benefits and secure relevant discounts with suppliers of Internet services, exclusive to IAA members. Do you have a product or service that would interest our members? Why not get in touch.
We are open to suggestions to improve the benefits members receive each year. To provide feedback please contact us.
We of course are always looking to increase the attractiveness of membership, and are therefore always open to suggestions on how we can improve the benefits members receive from membership. To provide feedback please contact us.
