AGM Results

It was great to meet with our members in Melbourne for the 2017 Annual General Meeting at The Langham Hotel.

The Association Committee are pleased to officially welcome two new committee members to the team. David Hooton joins the committee as a Professional Representative, and Daryl Collins of Akamai, joins as a Corporate Representative. Two of our current committee members have been re-elected to the committee filling Corporate Representative seats, Shane Short from In A Box Technologies Pty Ltd and Nathan Brookfield from Simtronic Technologies Pty Ltd.

We also welcome Ian Chiu of Netflix to the team, Ian joined the committee filling a casual vacancy shortly before the AGM was scheduled.

Special thanks to David Allen who has completed his term on the IAA Committee, you have been a valued asset to the team.

At the AGM we were pleased to announce our Universal Port Pricing initiative, you can read more here. And our Peering Engineer, Tim Raphael, gave us an insight into our metrics project, and he has blogged about it here.

If you missed the AGM stream online, you can rewatch it on our You Tube Channel.

The Committee are keen to hear from members about how the Association can continue to support members, with new services, features or projects. Many of the committee will be around at AusNog, so please come and have a chat with us. Or drop us an email to info@internet.asn.au or give us a call on 1300 653 132.

Giving Back to Members

At the Internet Association of Australia we are always working to provide better value to our members.

At the 2017 AGM we were pleased to  announce the introduction of Universal Port Prices. Both 1GB and 10GB ports are now only $350 per month exc GST.  You will notice the change on your next service invoice.

Existing 1GB peers can now upgrade to 10GB at no extra cost, and our 10GB peers enjoy a price reduction!

If you would like to upgrade any of your existing ports, or increase your peering ports, simply drop us an email to peering@ix.asn.au or log a service request via the Members Portal.

AGM Voting Information

The nomination period for the Committee election for 2017 is now closed. This year we have had the number of nominees match the number of available positions on the committee. All of our nominees will be elected to the Committee at the Annual General Meeting.

While this means that we do not require an election for the Professional Class of representation, we do require an election for our Corporate Representatives. Due to one of these committee terms being only one year long (due to filling a vacant seat) we require an election to determine the terms for the Corporate Representatives.

Voting for the 2017 Annual General Meeting is now open, and Corporate Members may download a Ballot Slip and vote now, or place their vote in person at the 2017 AGM.

To view or update your voting information, please log into the Members Portal. For any assistance please email membership@internet.asn.au.

For further information about our AGM or the voting process please contact Association Secretary, David Allen, by emailing secretary@internet.asn.au.
